Απίστευτο! Μεταμόρφωσαν ένα φορτηγάκι σε τροχόσπιτο πολυτελείας!

Ο μηχανικός Jack Richens και η γυναίκα του Lucy Hedges, επίσης μηχανικός, ήθελαν ένα τροχόσπιτο για τις οικογενειακές τους διακοπές, δεν κατάφεραν όμως να βρουν τίποτα και έτσι αποφάσισαν να μεταμορφώσουν σε τροχόσπιτο ένα φορτηγάκι, μια Mercedes Sprinter του 2012.

Το αποτέλεσμα ήταν ένα τροχόσπιτο με πολλές ανέσεις όπου μπορούν να κοιμηθούν και να δειπνήσουν. Το φορτηγάκι που το βρήκαν σε μάντρα σε τιμή ευκαιρίας, κόστισε λιγότερο από 10.000 ευρώ ενώ τα συνολικά έξοδα δεν ξεπέρασαν τα 20.00011 ευρώ.

The end result is an innovative motorhome where a family of four can sleep, dine and unwind during adventurous holidays on the road

Richens said: 'The base vehicle was a 2012 Mercedes Sprinter with 78,000 miles on the clock, which I picked up for £8,000- an absolute bargain'

The Oxford-based family now prefer the vehicle to their own house, which Richens had previously saved up money for by sleeping in his old Post Office van

Richens claims the expense of the van conversion was money well spent for a house-on-wheels tailored to their every need for life on the road - and in the driveway

'We spent months searching high and low and eventually it paid off,' he said

'The main expense on the interior was the seats, which came to about £2500 all fitted. The electrical and heating system another £2000 and the rest on timber, fittings, insulation. the list is very long,' Richens said

'The van is better than home. Sometimes, when it's parked up outside our house, we'll take the kids and spend the afternoon inside the van, that's how good it is,' Richens said

'It's hard to say whether we'd saved money as there is no camper van available that we'd like to buy so, in that respect, we spent precisely the right amount,' he said

The interior design and tricky woodworking bits were undertaken by Lucy

'Absolutely every part of the project presented obstacles, headaches and failures that needed to be fixed or needed several attempts but that's engineering I guess. If you solve enough problems eventually you end up with a nice camper van,' he said
